DIY Hydrating Botanical Beauty Mist

UPDATE: Shortly after the most recent posting of this recipe, Young Living launched our new Savvy Mineral Makeup line, which includes our Savvy Minerals Misting Spray! The recipe below does not replace the Misting Spray, which was specially formulated to work perfectly with our Mineral Makeup Line and is applied differently.

You need this. No really. I think I’m addicted.

Pamper yourself and hydrate your skin at the same time! A hydrating beauty mist can keep your face looking dewy and fresh, without that powdery, caked-makeup look! And, with the addition of the right essential oils, your skin can look smoother, brighter, and alive!

First, cleanse your face with Young Living’s Orange Blossom Face Wash or (my favorite) ART Gentle Foaming Cleanser.http://www.dreamstime.com/royalty-free-stock-images-young-woman-washing-her-face-hands-clean-water-morning-image30347489

The ART Refreshing Toner is up next! This gentle, aromatic toner gently removes impurities without drying the skin, and helps to balance your skin’s delicate ph. I like to add a drop of myrrh to the cotton ball first!

I like to apply a soft, warm washcloth infused with frankincense, myrrh, or rose over my face for a few seconds to prepare my skin for moisturizing…especially before bed.

Close your eyes and mist your face with one of the DIY Hydrating Beauty Mists below. While your face is still a little damp, apply the Boswellia Wrinkle Cream or the ART Intensive Moisturizer (my new favorite). And the Wolfberry Eye Cream can be dabbed on (use you ring fingers) to support the unique, delicate skin under your eyes.

Then apply the A.R.T. Renewal Serum or the Sheer Lume (I use the Renewal Serum at night and Sheer Lume in the morning). Applying moisturizer to warm, damp skin, will help keep your face feeling supple, as it traps in all the moisture. And the scent is so relaxing – especially before bed time!Beautiful woman applying spray water treatment on face on blue backgroundapplying powder with special brush selective focus blue version

During the summer, spritz your face with your mist whenever you feel like it! It’s refreshing on a hot day, or when you’re feeling fatigued, or when you’re suffering from dry weather. It’s also great after you get off an airplane!

Most importantly, after you’ve applied your mineral powder, a nice hydrating spritz will help to “set” your makeup, giving it a flawless, dewy finish! This is my favorite way to use my beauty mist! No more dry or cakey looking make up!

And don’t forget to drink plenty of water! It’s important to stay well-hydrated and toxin-free! Water helps flush out the toxins hiding in your cells and keeps you from being dehydrated. And, if you’ve been following my bone broth diet, you know I’m not going to let you get away without at least hearing it one more time: Bone Broth rocks! It’s loaded with collagen, elastin, protein, vitamins, minerals, and more! This is all good for your gut, your joints, your brain, your hair, your nails, your skin, and who knows what else!
