How Long Do Your Fruits & Veggies Last?

Not too long ago, I was about ready to stop buying strawberries altogether. It seemed like every time I brought some home, they’d mold before we even had a chance to enjoy them.

When our ten children were still at home, I never had to worry whether or not they would last—they were usually consumed within hours of walking in from the grocery.

But now that my husband and I are entering the empty nest stage and most of our kids have their own families, things are a little different. One day, I was chatting about this with a friend who was visiting, and she said casually…

“Oh, you’re not using our Thieves Veggie Wash?”

I told her I’d always just rinsed my produce with water when I was ready to use them, and didn’t really see the need for an extra step.

She shared that her husband had told her, “No more berries—they always go bad too fast.” But she gave the Fruit & Veggie Wash a try as a last-ditch effort… and now her berries were lasting for weeks. And her husband was happy.

Honestly, I thought she might be exaggerating—but I decided to try it for myself…

Both dishes of strawberries were bought on the same day, covered, and stored in the refrigerator. The dish on the left was not washed, and was mooshy and inedible after only a few days. The dish on the right was first washed in the Thieves Fruit & Veggie Wash before being stored.

And y’all—she was right! I decided to test it out. I washed and refrigerated some berries in the F&VW, and weeks later, while you could tell they weren’t quite as fresh, there wasn’t a single trace of mold or decay. I couldn’t believe how long they were lasting!

The unwashed fruit was mooshy, moldy, and disgusting after a week. But, honestly, even without visible decay, think about all the invisible mold spores we’d been unknowingly consuming before? Mold comes from somewhere you know. Kinda gross.

So I did some digging. Turns out, the Fruit & Veggie Soak is made with natural cleansing ingredients like citric acid and sodium citrate for starters—which gently but thoroughly remove dirt, pesticides, and other residues. It also includes Young Living’s powerful Thieves blend (look up the benefits), DiGize, and Purification essential oil blends, which take it to the next level.

Best part? It’s concentrated—just one bottle makes up to 16 gallons of wash.

If you’ve been tossing berries in the trash more than you’ve been eating them, I highly recommend giving this a try. It’s been a game-changer for us.
