Since making my DIY all-natural deodorant stick, I’ve been asked on numerous occasions to come up with a recipe for those who prefer sprays. Though our deodorant stick worked great and came out beautifully, it was definitely somewhat time-consuming. Not because of the preparations, but because of the clean up (yeah, sometimes I’m lazy).
Also, some people have trouble with baking soda-based deodorants, so I thought it would be good for people to have a choice. Plus, if I can avoid washing beeswax off dishes, I’m pretty happy.
This recipe came out great and took me only about three minutes to make (and no clean up!). And, just in case you take issue with spraying a liquid under your arms (a place most people try to keep dry), we made a follow-up essential oil-infused dusting powder for absorbing moisture (though if you’re patient and “flap your wings” a few times, or use your blow dryer, the liquid dries quickly!).
Just use the same oil blend in your dusting powder that you choose for your deodorant. There are plenty of natural base-ingredients you can use. I chose the arrowroot option from my Dusting Powder recipe HERE. I apply my dusting powder with a fluffy retractable powder brush like the one featured in the photo to the right.
Stacy’s Spritz Deodorant
- 2 oz. amber glass spray bottle (I buy mine in bulk HERE)
- 2 oz. Organic Witch Hazel (minus a teaspoon or so)
- 4 drops vegetable glycerine
- 20 drops Young Living Therapeutic Grade Essential Oil
The blends below smell wonderful! Be sure to research frankincense, and you’ll see why your under-arms are a great place to put frankincense!
And these cute little bottles are small enough to throw in your purse for any “spruce ups” you feel the need for during the day.
Use one of the following blends in the above recipe, as well as in your DIY dusting powder!
Mediterranean Nights
- 13 drops frankincense
- 7 drops bergamot
Rainforest Dream
- 10 drops vetiver
- 7 drops sandalwood
Other good singles or blends:
- Shutran
- Lady Sclereol
- Joy
- Lavender
- Vetiver
- Three Wise Men
For convenience, you could make a “refill batch” and keep it in a large mason jar! Have fun!
