Strawberry Basil Lemonade

I’m sitting beside my husband watching the lake, enjoying the warm sunshine on my skin, and listening to the trickle of the lemongrass essential oil-infused fountain beside me. I’m enjoying so many luscious senses right now!

But the sense of taste is what I’m talkin’ about today!  This refreshing drink is going to be a summer time staple around here! Of course, don’t ask my what ELSE hubby put in his! Cheers!

  • 1/4 C. raw evaporated cane sugar
  • 1 lb. strawberries
  • 1 C. fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 6 C. water
  • Lemon Basil Simple Syrup from recipe below
  • 1 C. ice
Basil Simple Syrup:
  • 2 C. raw evaporated cane sugar or Honey
  • 1 C. water
  • 1 drop Young Living Vitality Basil Essential Oil
  • 10 drops Young Living Lemon Essential Oil

Prepare simple syrup first by heating sugar and water on medium high heat until sugar is completely dissolved and a little reduced. Set aside and let cool. Once cooled, add 1 drop Basil oil.

Puree strawberries in food processor.

Add 1 C. ice to the simple syrup mixture and pour into a pitcher with pureed strawberries, water, and lemon juice. Stir and enjoy! Don’t forget to garnish with fresh basil and a bright red strawberry. It totally adds to the taste when something looks pretty!
