toum lebanese garlic dip

Lebanese Garlic Sauce (Toum)

Creamy, fluffy, and full of garlic – you are going to love this keto-safe goodness for dipping your meatballs, grilled meats, roasted veggies, or flatbread. Layer some of its goodness before filling your keto lettuce cups and you’re going to be obsessed! Just don’t plan to do any kissing afterward!

This recipe takes just minutes!

  • 1/2 cup garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoons Diamond Crystal kosher salt (for table salt, use 1 teaspoon)
  • 1/8 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice from about 2 lemons, divided
  • 1/8 cup ice water, divided
  • 1 1/2 cups Avocado Oil
  • 1 egg white (optional

Method

  • Blend the garlic cloves along with salt until the garlic is a thick paste.
  • Add a splash of the lemon juice and process.
  • Add the egg white and blend on medium.  (optional)
  • Drizzle some of the avocado oil into the machine while processing.
  • Switch to a slow blend, and slowly add the rest of the lemon juice
  • Add the rest of the avocado oil in a slow drizzle.
  • Add 1 or 2 T. of ice water and watch your sauce become lusciously creamy and light.

Enjoy with Lebanese meat balls, as a dip, or with flat bread. I like to use the egg whites left over from making my homemade mayo.
